Ingredients:
5 pounds fresh chicken wings, tips removed
1 1/2 cups bottled chili sauce (such as Heinz)
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons chili powder (or to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco) to taste
Directions
Rinse chicken wings under cold running water and pat dry. Place wings in the crock pot.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. Taste the sauce to make sure it's spiced well and adjust seasonings as necessary.
Pour sauce mixture over chicken wings in the crock pot and stir to coat.
Cook wings on low heat for about 8 hours, or until cooked through and tender. If sauce becomes too thick, add a bit of water or apple juice and mix well to thin it out a bit.
